Floridians: What type of senator/governor has Bob Graham been?
I just got finished reading "Intelligence Matters", and I was very impressed by both his thoroughness (all the notebooks he keeps) and his conviction. I was curious if he's a popular figure in Florida.

1. I've been a longtime fan of Graham, however, when he ran for
President this year and claim illness to bow out, then was considered for VP to bow in, then claimed illness to bow out of his Senate seat, I was disappointed in him. He has a very good voting record, it is a loss that he is leaving the Senate, I hope Betty Castor takes his place, however, I think Graham just doesn't have the stomach for this administration, that seems to be a trend.

3. Maybe he retired so he could write this book?

Just think of the repercussions if he were running. Excuse me, but he did not "claim" illness. His surgery was extremely serious. I don't think he was seriously considered for VP.

2. Senator Graham
He was a much loved and respected Governor of florida, popular even with the Republicans. Unlike Jeb he was visable. Jeb only pokes his face out when there is a crisis.

5. I have only lived here 18 months,
but have yet to find anyone speak unkindly of him.
What a great way to go out.

6. Graham runs as a centrist, which is what you have to do to win in FL, but
I've rarely disagreed with his Senate votes. He was a respected, hard working Governor and is a respected, hard working Senator. We will miss him.
