Patterson throws Obama Under the Bus.
Oh yeah .... he is SO outta there.

Well, this is going to make David Paterson a lot of friends in the White House, as he tries to put himself in the president's shoes:

"If you look at it from their perspective, (the Obama admin. hasn't) exactly been able to govern in the first year of their administration in the way that other administrations have, where you would have, theoretically, a period in which the new administration is allowed to pass the needed pieces of legislation."

One of the things that has made the White House angriest at Paterson is his linking his woes to the president's. The last time was about race, of course, which made it worse.

UPDATE: A White House official notes that Obama's record of passing legislation for which he's personally fought is, so far, perfect.

22. Paterson threw himself under the bus..
by his actions since becoming Gov bc Spitzer resigned.

<snip>>

"And underscoring Mr. Paterson’s weakened status, nearly 7 out of 10 voters approved of the job Mr. Cuomo was doing as the state’s top law enforcement official, while only 3 out of 10 approved of Mr. Paterson’s performance, according to a poll in late May and early June by The New York Times, Cornell University and New York 1 News.

The possible abandonment of Mr. Paterson by some labor leaders reflects a larger anxiety among Democrats, not just over their chances of maintaining control of the governor’s mansion, but also over the prospect that his problems will hurt other Democratic candidates on the ballot in 2010.

One powerful labor official said he felt it was a matter of time before leaders in the party asked Mr. Paterson directly to step aside for the sake of the party.

“There will be pressures from many quarters, not just labor,” said the official, who did not want to be identified for fear of antagonizing the governor. “Nobody wants a failed Democratic Party in New York — or a Republican governor.”

Blaming it on Race, too, and trying to drag the White House into it.

<snip>>

"Gov Paterson blamed a racist media Friday for trying to push him out of next year's election - launching into an angry rant that left even some black Democrats shaking their heads.

"The whole idea is to get me not to run in the primary," Paterson complained on a morning radio show hosted by Daily News columnist Errol Louis.

He suggested that Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, the country's only other African-American governor, also is under fire because of his race.

"We're not in the post-racial period," Paterson said.

"The reality is the next victim on the list - and you can see it coming - is President Barack Obama, who did nothing more than trying to reform a health care system."

Paterson said the campaign against him is being "orchestrated" by reporters who would rather make the news than report it.

But critics said the governor should blame his own blunders."

.... and I'm NOT talking about not appointing her to the Senate .... I'm talking about the WAY it was handled and the rumors HIS office allowed to circulate. Remember? They were spreading rumors that she was having marital problems.

I dont know that it's necessarily germaine to the issue, but it was still VERY poor form.

David Paterson as their governor but instead want "someone else."

http://www.siena.edu/uploadedfiles/home/Parents_and_Community/Community_Page/SRI/SNY_Poll/09%20September%20SNY%20Poll%20Release.pdf

Sixty-one percent do not feel that Paterson has the "leadership skills" necessary to run the state.

Giuliani appears to have a higher view of himself as New York's next governor than actual New York voters do, inasmuch as about half of them do not want him involved in a statewide race at all.

Giuliani would lose a general election to Andrew Cuomo:

Cuomo -- 53%
Giuliani -- 39%

Cuomo also would defeat Rick Lazio:

Cuomo -- 64%
Lazio -- 18%

Governor Paterson badly loses to Cuomo in a Democratic primary race:

Cuomo -- 66%
Paterson -- 20%

The numbers for Giuliani are not terribly encouraging. For Paterson, they're disastrous.

60. His name is Paterson
One T. And it is hard for those of lesser status to 'throw Obama under the bus'. The President did that to Paterson already. Via 'unnamed sources' who were supposed to remain confidential, but whom spoke out anyway. They did not give names because doing that sort of politics in the open is self defeating. It is in fact, stupid. People here would vote the opposite of what any DC stiff tried to foist off on us, just to make the point. Outside interference is unwelcome in most places.
Of course going behind backs, speaking outside of confidence, smearing loyal Party fellows, this is what the 'faith community' does, all the time, so when Obama speaks religion, we know he supports gossip and backbiting, discrimination, harassing of those who support GLBT Equality, drug reform, in short, they will leap all over anyone who does not fall into lockstep with their atavistic, religionist, bigoted outlook on the world. Liars and backstabbers who proclaim they are too holy to allow others to have equal rights under the law. Hypocrites.
