13. Thank you, karyn! This
could possibly have not gone so well for us. Not to be a downer..just that I appreciate it so much as anyone does who likes a nice even number in the Senate.

2. Step right up, Senator!
I'm so happy it's Kirk and not Dukakis! I'm just afraid the dukester would just become another distracting target by the RW. Personally, I don't care if he irritates the hell out of the RWingers but since they have the media they would just use it as another way to keep the American public's eye on the ball...let's just take care of business and Senator Kirk is all about that.

7. 60 what? More like 50 Democrats 2 Indep and 48 assholes.
We need the nuclear option so we can tell the Blue Dog Devils to go to hell.

10. Better to be at 60 in the caucus than 59
Yes, there are still obstacles, like Lieberman and others. But we still don't need a Repuke.

15. Not trying to be argumentative but, have we ever used the 60 to break a filibuster?
Last year the anti-Americans filibustered over 100 times and we didn't even challenge them. I wish i could believe we have 60 votes but i don't.

On some cabinet members and judicial nominees alone the Repukes couldn't get the votes needed for a filibuster.

6. Ok 60 TO 40
time for some damned party discipline. Vote the health care public option through in a day and have the president sing it tomorrow. Fuck the GOP, they never asked us for our opinion even when they had a smaller majority. Any senators that get in the way and support a fillibuster should be kicked out of the party and can try to win elections if they want to.

Edited on Fri Sep-25-09 04:19 PM by reggie the dog
strip them of any position of power that they are nominated to in the party, publicly tell them they are no loger welcome in the party. Vow to run real Democrats against them in upcoming elections.
