George Lakoff is a progressive Berkeley professor of linguistics and cognitive science. His book, "Moral Politics: How Liberals and Conservatives Think," is a scholarly work based on research and observation. He is a founder of progressive think tank the Rockridge Institute. Note: I am NOT affiliated with Lakoff in any way. I read his earlier book and it's very good. I have just bought the book and DVD and I'll report back on them. BUT, if they are as good as they look, they promise to be GREAT. Lakoff advised Dean and is advising Kerry and per his articles he seems to be a guy who really knows his stuff. Get this out to everyone you can!

Sierra Club magazine had an article on Lakoff recently. He's really good, our counter to repuke Frank Luntz. It's so important how we use language, the words we choose, framing, etc. An example he gave was that using the phrase "global warming" was really ineffective because it sounds harmless and maybe even nice, "warm" is a comforting word. Can't remember right now what alternative he suggested. I just ordered the book & video.
