Bush 'pleased with the progress' in Iraq
"KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (CNN) -- In a phone interview with a newspaper, President Bush played down a U.S. intelligence forecast painting a pessimistic picture for the future of Iraq, including the suggestion that civil war could erupt there.

"The Iraqis are defying the dire predictions of a lot of people by moving toward democracy," Bush told the paper. "It's hard to get to democracy from tyranny. It's hard work. And yet, it's necessary work. But it's necessary work because a democratic Iraq will make the world a freer place and a more peaceful place.

"I'm pleased with the progress," Bush said."

1. Should Americans be pleased...
Should we be pleased with our president's disconnect with reality?

4. You cannot...............
force Democracy on another country.

It seems as if the "dire predictions" have come to pass. Only in Bush's fantasy world does PNAC's plan seem to bear fruit.

"I'm pleased with the progress". Over 1,000 American soldiers dead, countless thousands maimed both physically and mentally, their families forever scarred by Bush's personal vendetta. Yet, he's "pleased". I'm SOOOO happy for you George. I'm SOOOO happy that you're pleased.

The cost of George Bush's pleasure is one that this country cannot afford.

5. Well, he has successfully established the military occupation of Iraq...
which was the point of the whole operation. Or are they going to abandon all those military bases built by Brown and Root at the end of the year?

9. "a democratic Iraq"...
this statement rings loud in my ears and heavy on my heart. what makes this man think they want democracy? they have been living their way of life for thousands of years and the US, a very young country by comparison, feels it knows what is best for them? why are you so arrogant mr. bush? you make me feel ashamed.

11. This man has a mental problem
and needs to be put away and treated before he blows up the whole world. He has absolutely no comprehension what is going on and is more dangerous to the health of the human race then any other person on this planet.
