DFL Party Convention Moves to April
State Central Committee sets date for April 23–25

Minneapolis (September 26, 2009) — The State DFL Central Committee today voted to move the state convention to April 23–25, 2010, from the original date scheduled in June. The Party released this statement from Chair Brian Melendez:

“The State Central Committee’s vote today is an important step in laying the foundation for a strong DFL election cycle in 2010. Holding the convention in April makes our endorsed candidate even more competitive and lets DFLers rally behind their choice earlier, so that we can build greater momentum for the general election. We’re looking forward to gathering in Duluth and endorsing a candidate who will honestly face the budget crisis and other challenges that Tim Pawlenty has dumped onto his successor.”
