Will Progressives Be Held Responsible, Too...
If there is no public option? People don't like the way Barack Obama is handling the healthcare issue, so it is a good thing Barack Obama is not writing the healthcare reform bill. It will moslty be in the hands of progressives. Are progressives going to primary the progressives, too, if the democrats screw up healthcare reform? The progressives outnumber the blue-dog "democrats," and it's not as if the progressives have not caved in to the blue-dog "democrats" before. They caved in when they were working on the stimulus bill. Max Baucus's bill doesn't mean shit. Just because Barack Obama praised Max Baucus, and the amount of media spin, does not mean that Max Baucus' bill is going to be the final bill. The Senate Finance Committee being almost complete, is a good thing, because now, they can move on to the next step. It's never gotten this far, before. In case some people haven't noticed, Barack Obama "praises" almost everything, and everyone. If Max Baucus spit on Barack Obama's children, he would praise him. The public option still has a chance when they go to conference committee. But if the progressives go into the conference committee and cave in, it will be their fault, too. Will they be challenged, too?

3. It's a not-widely-known...
...but it's a fact that if you're progressive enough, your poo doesn't even smell.

The progressives outnumber the blue-dog "democrats,"

The CPC House caucus is more than twice the size of the Blue Dogs, but the Blue Dogs haven't internalized a generation of noble-failure-is-the-real-est-form-of-victory legends the way the CPC has.

5. All Democrats will be held responsible for the individual mandate.
Period.

And it won't matter whether we have "the public option" or not. We will be punished for forcing all Americans to either buy insurance or become criminals.

This plan is insane, and I am ashamed that my party is pushing it.
