How is the reasoning supposed to work that for President Obama, receiving the Nobel Prize somehow reflects poorly on him or America?

Even if you disagree with the selection, how could it be anything but a positive for you to even be considered for such a prestigious award?

2. We are in the 9th year of Bizarro world, where up is down, rain is sun..don't forget.
In order to deal with the reality of the embarrassment that was Bush, the media and Republicans have slipped into a world incomprehensible to those of us who live in the real world.

15. Bwa ha ha!
Oops, my apologies.
I shouldn't laugh at a time like this.

As a nation we have made it through some tough times.
Civil War, the Civil Rights era, 9-11 and even Bill Clinton's BJ.
I just don't think we can make it through the disaster of having our president win such a shameful award.
We may as well go rogue, disband the union and turn to complete nihilistic anarchy.
The damage has been done.
We're screwn.
Oh, the humanity!

14. When I came back after a hiatus, I vowed never to ignore again but
just because I wanted to SEE what the site I belong to actually says. What its members say. I figured how else would I know if I belonged here or not. I want to see what is allowed here. If it's a bash Obama all the time place then it's not for me.

But for folks who have no doubts about sticking around, ignore would be very helpful. I'm just on the fence so I have to see what goes on.

30. What I don't understand is why, on a DEM board with rules about
spewing RW talking points, certain DUers are allowed to spew said RW talking points all morning, noon, and night. Because somehow Obama is different and we don't have to follow DU rules when he is in office?

in left-wing terminology.

Edited to add that I don't buy it. I'm as liberal as a person can get. Well, I did cancel my subscription to the WSW site. I got tired of their nonsensical endless blathering. BUT, other than that, I'm as liberal as a person can get. Yet I see no reason to spew venom at the President day in, day out.

11. A society in which the Media permits and agrees with those
less educated. The RW always playing the victim try to turn
this into a rally around the troops event by saying the Nobel
Committee was sticking it to Bush and the Media were there
ready willing and able to carry their water.

Just what if the the rest of world saw a country with a ugly
history of slavery actually elect the first African American
to the Presidency. What if the rest of the world have actually
built some hope for a more peaceful world and what if they happen
to see Pres. Obama as a person who just might eventually make
things happen? The Nobel P Comm. never said it was for accomplishment.

This does not matter. According to the actions of our Media
we must bow to the wishes of the least knowledge, shoot then
ask questions crew.

I do expect more from Liberals.

13. It's the same bullshit of those ads last year that because people outside America LIKED Obama we
should under no circumstances ever elect him President.
The horror of actually having a Pres. liked by the rest of the world is a burden we as America should not have to live with.
