Boxer: Limbaugh's Nobel response 'very wimpy'

Conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh's attacks on President Barack Obama for having won the Nobel Peace Prize are "very wimpy," one senator said Friday.

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) called out the host for his criticism of the decision to give the president the award during an appearance Friday night on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show."

"What he`s saying is very wimpy in a way," pointing to Limbaugh's criticism of Obama as having been "emasculating" the U.S. in the eyes of the Nobel committee.

"You can always use the fist. That`s the easy part, especially when it isn`t Rush Limbaugh`s fist," Boxer said. "He doesn't care if they did go abroad and fight wars" ...

would just declare a moratorium on Rush & Beck. We're being played by these guys. They know that they can say the most ludicrous things (whether they believe them or not), and the left blogosphere goes into immediate overdrive. Can we just stop feeding the beast? We always seem to be reacting to them, and this only increases their ratings & the size of their wallets.

Every Dem elected official should refuse to dignify remarks made by Rush or Beck in the future. I realize this might be difficult for some on the left because they too, make money monitoring Rush, Beck, FNC..etc. Couldn't we at least try not to talk about these guys? Sometimes, there's a half dozen Beck threads going at once, it makes me wonder if their producers post here. :shrug:

If Limbaugh and similar gasbags didn't seem to be driving Republican policy right now, I would think that ignoring them would be the proper response: It is below my dignity to respond to that is often an intelligent attitude

But, in fact, this year we have repeatedly seen the Republicans kowtow to Limbaugh and his ilk, and the Republicans have mostly been following Limbaugh's lead. Given this context, I think it proper, not only to point out what a foul stench Limbaugh is, but also to push memes like "Republican = Limbaugh" -- at least, until the remaining Republicans decide to put daylight between themselves and such puerile jackasses

Leave it to the RWers to ridicule what is generally thought to be an honorable award.
