So Obama is 0-2 in the Just-Like-Hitler department. Suck it, Limbaugh!

3. Hitler, however, did get nominated for the Prize.
This actually happened, after Munich, when even Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister, famously claimed that he had negotiated with Hitler "Peace in our times."

Within two years the world was on fire.

That said, I wholeheartedly agree with the Prize being given to our President. He definitely walks in the ways of peace and is working to make it where it didn't exist.

I do not agree with his Afghan strategy necessarily, but I agree that he believes he is working for peace and nothing else.

11. I understand that
anyone can be nominated for a Nobel prize. If you follow the guidelines, you can nominate a tyrant, a peacemaker or your next door neighbor for the Nobel Peace Prize. They may not win, but your nomination will not be rejected. I bet that people who talk about "peace through strength" etc. have nominated various warmongers and madmen over the years.

13. Well Henry Kissinger actually WON the prize, which must have made the victims
in Chile, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia feel all warm and fuzzy, no doubt.

14. That's not quite true
Nominations are by invitation, and the Nobel Foundation's statutes include clear guidelines about whom they may invite to submit nominations. You'll find them on their website, www.nobelprize.com

Of course if you are invited, you can nominate anyone you like. But if you weren't invited, your nomination is invalid.
