Checkpoint - the book by Nicholson Baker
Was the story posted here?

Just went over an older issue of Newsweek and read the story about the book. A conversation between two people about assassinating Bush. (will I, or DU, get in trouble for the combination of these two words?)

The book "did, in fact, originate in Baker's own fury, grief and helplessness over Iraq." "He wrote the fist draft in April 2004, during the siege of Fallujah, because he could think about nothing else. As he typed, he found himself weeping."

"And now, that he's got the book of his chest, he actually feels better about Bush."
