Jill Biden Shows A Lot Of Leg

SLOTUS Jill Biden stopped by the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater in New York on Monday, showing off some well-toned gams in one of her signature short dresses. The dress and coat were by Milly.

While there she watched dancers rehearse with Judith Jamison, the Artistic Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and and Denise Jefferson, Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater School. See below.

Nothing wrong with saying someone looks good or sexy, mind you...but when we are always saying it about women, especially attractive women in power, and not about men, it definitely says something about how we regard women.

In short, we like our women in power to be smart, accomplished...and HAWT.

But if any woman dares to express the opinion that Barack Obama is sexy, she quickly stifles it, lest she appear to be "trivializing" him.

I don't mind posts about Democratic women looking good and carrying themselves well, as long as it is respectful. Truth be told, it's the negative items about Republican women that are more likely to veer into the inappropriate territory.

I don't see nearly as many posts about the men.

We carry on about Joe & his dashing looks almost daily!!

And those shoes, to die for! She also has the most beautiful face. Age is just a number to this lady, she knows how to keep herself fit. She's the complete package, Beauty AND Brains.

Unless you're stupid enough to believe that old assumption that brainy women CAN'T be beautiful, why do you consider her so remarkable?

Or would you give a damn about her brains IF she didn't wear hawt shoes and have a beautiful face and keep herself fit? Possibly not.

That has been the term used for years. I think you are making a mountain out of a molehole. I didn't read anything that was derogatory toward Jill in that article, at all. If you haven't noticed, even Obama isn't called "President" in every article written about him. I don't think it's meant to be offensive, just an abbreviation.

SLOTUS as a joke, it not being an official acronym. Humor within a family is one thing, but in an article devoted entirely to Dr. Biden's legs and "short dresses," SLOTUS too obviously suggests SLOT and SLUT to be appropriate. Why not call the woman Dr. Biden?

As for why they dont call her "Doctor", why don't they call Obama..."President Obama" every single time they write his name or say his name on tv? I've seen & heard: "Obama" & "Mr Obama". And I've seen it said & written of other presidents too.

After listening to Republicans constantly bash women in our party as being unattractive...I am thrilled, do you hear me? THRILLED, that we have such a beautiful woman like Jill Biden to throw in their faces.

And know something else? Here's the kicker...Unlike their "Goddess" Palin....Our Jill has brains too!

If that makes you unhappy...that's your problem. Joe Biden constantly refers to his wife as "gorgeous". And he doesn't refer to her as "Doctor" all the time either. So take it up with him.

There are more media comments today about the physical appearance of women for whom physical appearance has nothing to do with their work than I think there were in the late '70s. In the late '70s people were being awakened to and advised against that sort of stuff. Nowadays, a woman who has an issue with herself, or other women, being assessed on the basis of physical appearance is derided as a "drama queen" (see above) and a sexual prude.

Just another way to keep us in our place. *sigh*

I don't know what universe you live in, but people do to take note of your appearance. You try showing up for a job interview looking like a slob and see just how far that gets you.


Jill Biden has nothing to prove. We are well aware she has a doctorate. That has been duly noted, many times. But complimenting her on her looks is insulting? I don't know how many posts I've seen on this board drooling over Obama with his shirt off or how "hot" Michelle looks, or how handsome Joe Biden is. And so what? They are good looking people and it's hard not to notice. That they are also very accomplished adds to their allure.

There are some who still think you cannot be attractive and be intelligent too. That's their loss. And there are some who do get by on their looks alone, like Sarah Palin. Jill Biden is the polar opposite of Palin. I don't know if you have heard some of the republican rhetoric directed at Democratic women. But I sure have. That they aren't as "good looking". So ok republicans compare our second lady to yours (Lynne Cheney). Both are accomplished women, but Jill Biden is a lot easier on the eyes.


So, I fail to see why complimenting Jill Biden on how she looks is in anyway insulting. Or her choice in clothes or shoes. She also has great taste in fashion. We haven't seen much of that in the last administration. It's new & it's exciting. We hear all the time about how Americans are overweight and unhealthy. We are also a very youth oriented society, women especially, seem to get overlooked when they get older. Jill Biden breaks that myth. You can be older, smarter, stylish, fit & still be hot. I think that's a plus for all women. She takes pride in keeping herself fit, as well being intellectually accomplished. And we shouldn't notice that and give her credit for it? Why not?

Why anyone would have a problem with that, is beyond me. I think you have your own issues.

When you're our age, the strident feminism isn't so much a part of your personality. Seriously, the system is horrible to both men and women, to freak out if there's a whiff of objectifying a smart women is just a waste of time. It's more of the System's divide-and-conquer tactics to keep the genders from changing the miserable way they're BOTH treated socially.
