6. Remember, Rush launched his national career after honing his...
snake oil salesman skills on the Sacramento rubes. I learned to really dislike him when he was at KFBK.

5. The administration is making some really dumb PR moves with the elderly
Theres the bogus reports showing no inflation so there wont be any SS COLA next January, when the common person sees prices rising on most staples.

Also the talked about readjustment of Medicare in the healthcare reform has seniors worried as well.

Not saying I agree, but its not smart politics and leads to the kind of insecurities that allows people to believe the wildest things and it could be prevented by the WH if they wanted to.

13. No, Im saying the WH could take a better approach with seniors
Take the wind out of the right wing sails by being proactive and working towards helping seniors out in these economically uncertain times.

The COLA on social security is the worst example of PR I've ever seen.

The WH should have taken the same approach with the COLA on social security that they just did with military pay where Obama just signed an increase of over 3% that theoretically should have also been a 0% increase because its normally based on the same CPI as the SS COLA.

10. I don't see how you can blame Obama for the lies the RW is telling...
They are scaring these poor people out of their wits! And along with the lies and the fear, they are telling these people that Obama is lying to them. Obama has set the record straight... the problem is, and this is PR 101 (I work at a PR firm), people will always remember the first thing they hear. If they hear the lie, they will remember the lie no matter how many times the truth is told after the fact.

Remember when Bush came out and said there were no WMD in Iraq? Probably not. But he did... and it was in a speech recorded on the WH website... I sent the link to many a RW nutjob back in the day... the stammering and excuses were ridiculous. But they still insisted there were WMD, even after reading differently in Bush's own words.

12. I am on a fixed income of $1300 a month from SS, and I have seen a decrease in commodity prices,
be honest. Cheese was outrageous for a while, as was flour and sugar. Both are down sharply on my grocery bills. The lowering of commodity prices is a very bad sign. Bumper crops and rock bottom prices were the hallmark for much of the Great Depression.

At least we still grow our own food here, too bad we don't make stuff any longer except for an occasional rocket and nuclear submarine.

14. Convinience foods are not going down despite the drop in commodity prices
Oh I know Grandma shouldnt use those, but outside of basic ingredients like dairy and raw vegetables grocery prices are increasing.

15. All frozen prepared food items are inflating continuously
We don't buy many basic staples since both of us
work and don't have the time or energy to cook.
