Nader barred from New Mexico ballot
ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — A state district judge bars Ralph Nader from appearing on the ballot in New Mexico as an independent candidate for president.

Nader was approved earlier by the Florida Supreme Court to be on the state's ballot for the Reform Party.

Ralph Nader was knocked off the New Mexico ballot Friday when a state judge ruled that he is ineligible to run as an independent candidate in the state.
District Judge Wendy York said in a decision released late Friday afternoon that because Nader is affiliated with political parties in other states, he cannot run without affiliation — or as an independent — in New Mexico.
The hearing was in response to a Democrat-backed lawsuit to remove Nader's name from the ballot.
Some Democrats fear Nader's candidacy could help President George W. Bush in the close contest for New Mexico's five electoral votes.
Underscoring the state's importance, Democratic nominee John Kerry was in Albuquerque Thursday and Friday, his fifth visit to the state.

2. That's great! Nader pulled 21,000 votes in 2000 in New Mexico
While Gore won by 366.

Only about 1 million votes will be cast in New Mexico.

3. Sorry
but I don’t want my party to actively work to eliminate people from the political process. This is simply not right; it’s not democratic and it’s not in our best interest. Like in Florida, this will be overruled by the State Supreme Court and it only strengthens the resolve of Nader’s supporters. This is yet another blunder.
