Pence endorses Hoffman for 2010
The third-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives on Wednesday endorsed Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman for the 2010 midterm elections.

House Republican Conference chairman Mike Pence (R-Ind.) offered his support to Hoffman, who was defeated at the hands of Democrat Bill Owens in a highly contested special election in upstate New York.

"Well, let me say that the lesson here is that we all need to fall behind Doug Hoffman for next fall’s election," Pence told a conservative blog today. "I look forward to welcoming him to Congress a year from now. I think he ran a brilliant campaign."

Hoffman posed a challenge from the right to Republican nominee Dede Scozzafava, who dropped out of the race over the weekend. Grassroots conservatives and several national Republican leaders fell in line behind Hoffman and criticized Scozzafava for holding too many liberal positions.

1. I love the word "fall" when it's in reference to Hoffman
As in he fell short or he fell by the wayside.

2. Isn't The 23rd Going To Be Redistricted?
If so, wouldn't that make Pence beyond clueless?

3. It will be redistricted for 2012, not 2010.

6. Whether on not it is a waste will be determined on who controls the legislature in 2011

If the reps hold it like they do now they could make his district safe and shut out dem ones.

8. My Comment On Waste
Was in reference to the fact that they poured tons of cash into a race with a hapless candidate, so bad that the district voted blue enough to put a dem in. And despite what Pence said, Armey has now declared that Hoffman was unprepared and not up to the challenge.

5. He sure did run a brillant campaign
he had to have Armey sit next to him to tell him about the issues the district he was running in was facing. He, not being from the district, didn't even know probably where the beginning and end was.

9. How funny would it be if Hoffman doesn't even win the primary. . .
. . .the tea baggers do know he has to run in the GOP primary, or will he run as an indy again?
