We are always on the virtuous side of Solomon's quandary... sigh
Edited on Tue Nov-10-09 03:24 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
When Solomon said the baby should be cut in half the true mother let the baby go to the other woman rather than seeing it harmed.

Then Solomon said, "Aha!" and gave the baby to its true mother.

We have gotten the first part down pretty well. We are always supposed to compromise for the common good. We will give in because when push comes to shove we don't want to see the world destroyed. We don't want to see people hurt.

40 anti-choice Dems in the House say, "No Stupak, no final HCR bill."

40 pro-choice Dems in the House say, "With Stupak, no final HCR bill."

It is presumed that the pro-choice contingent will be the side to fold because they are good people who couldn't bear to see HCR go down.

All we lack is Solomon to hand HCR without any anti-choice provisions to us. (And have the anti-choicers fed to lizards, or however the story ended.)

Since Solomon is not around we will always be bringing a fruit basket to a gun fight. I have no solution.

Krugman's piece about the threat of a permanent minority RW that cannot govern but can prevent anyone else from governing is food for thought.

2. The woman had to go home empty handed. That was the end of the story.

However, in this story we, the people, will go home empty handed. Funny I was thinking of the same story and metaphor this weekend.

4. No...she didn't. The real mother got her baby. The mother who stole the baby didn't.
That's how the story ended. The mother who stole the baby after killing her own was the one who went home empty handed.

5. Yes, the rightful mother got the baby. The way the health care issue worked
out it's the bad mother who gets the baby, or the health insurance industry who starved those who need health care most.
