Powell Advised Obama to "Take Your Time" (sending troops)
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2009/11/11/powell_advised_obama_to_take_your_time.html

In a radio interview this morning, retired Gen. Colin Powell says he advised President Obama "not to be rushed into a decision" on sending additional troops to Afghanistan " because this one is the decision that will have consequences for years to come."

Said Powell: "This is a very difficult one for him. And it isn't just a one-time decision. This is the decision that will have consequences for the better part of his administration. So Mr. President, don't get pushed by the left to do nothing; don't get pushed by the right to do everything. You take your time and you figure it out. You're the commander-in-chief and this is what you were elected for."

1. Who cares what war criminal Powell says?
Not me. He says what he thinks will help Colin Powell.

4. I'm starting to not really blame Powell for the war in Iraq
He clearly was being used by the Bush Administration and he knew it. That's why he got the hell out of there when Bush was re-elected. Some people don't like being played.

11. Powell's bullshit goes back farther than Iraq.
he's a fucking toadie but I suppose many here these days would think that a good thing.

5. Did he tell us about mobile labs and WMDs again?
I'm sorry but once a person nails their honesty to the Bush cross and lies to the assembled world at the UN, that person is a disgrace who should be shunned. He speaks of consequences? He who lied until the bombs dropped?

6. It wasn't just the "mobile labs" lie...
He lied using CARTOONS as his "proof" of the things. When I saw him hold up those "artist's renditions" of the "mobile labs", I knew he was full of shit. What little respect I had left for him disappeared at that moment. We have spy satellites that can read a car license plate, yet they couldn't come up with an actual photo of one of these alleged labs? How many people, who should've known better, bought that shit soley because it came from Powell?

I think Powell might be trying to make amends for helping lie this country into Iraq. And, for once he is right here. President Obama DOES need to take his time with the decision. But, in my eyes, he still has no credibility left.

10. As someone who let himself be pushed and became a pusher
he's right,

"And it isn't just a one-time decision. This is the decision that will have consequences for the better part of his administration."
