CNN: Gallup Poll was an outlier
Miles O'Brien just interviewed Walter Shapiro of USA Today.

Shapiro said that the Gallup Poll showing Bush ahead by 13 was probably an outlier. O'Brien then pointed out that Shapiro's paper was "trumpeting" that poll in its paper today.

And Shapiro just kind of shrugged and then talked about all the problems with polls, including not calling cell-phone users.

6. A rogue poll.
You know how they always say 'correct to within 3.5 points, 19 times out of 20'? This is time number 20.

8. thanks...
Has Gallop done this before?? Don't they run the risk of being not trusted or has that been established already...I'm guessing yes...

I do think the young vote is being totally ignored...why don't poll people go to colleges and conduct polls??

7. Do we know the number of Repugs, Dems, Indies included or have
any other specific information on the methodology of the poll?

It was easy to see the problem with the Newsweek and Time polls when you could see they overrepresented Republicans.

and interestingly enough Susan Page of USAT was on NPR Diane Rehm today and in the part I caught she was laughingly talking about her other favorite polls and seemed to be distancing herself major--ly....

10. Nice to see CNN report this
I love the arrogant quotes from Dowd and others in the article about how screwed the dems are based on this faulty poll.

12. BULL FUCKING SHIT!!! FUCK THEM!!
It was NOT an outliar!! It was a DELIBERATE and CONSCISOUS piece of propoganda meant to influence the election and to demoralize Bush's opposition.

Gallup is doing Rove's bidding. I am now thoroughly convinced.

FUCK them. They are traitorous pieces of fucking Nazi propogandistic garbage!
