2. Now saying,..
Calling the apparrent forgeries...faxed from Kinko's in Abilene, TX, near Bill Burkett -

Mark Hosenball: Burkett is former TANG Colonel, then sent to Panama where he was sickened by tropical disease, they claim mental breakdown, observed Bush aides talking about sanitizing his records. Behaved erratically esp. the last 24-48 hours.

Olberman: CBS may have ignored documents' provenance...

Hose: Disturbing that this guy had a role.

Olb: Polls 'tightening' - what the hell is going on?

Hose: AMericans tuning out Vietnam stuff - thinking about issues - maybe a good development.

Olb: trite phrases and goodbye...

4. If they want to claim Bush's records WEREN'T scrubbed then WHERE are they?
Why dump on this guy for saying he heard them talking about scrubbing as he has for over 4 years now? If they weren't scrubbed then WHERE ARE THEY and why are there so many gaps in Bush's records?

Burketts story has stayed consistent for over 4 years while it's the Bushies' stories that keep changing. Hosenball mocks Burkett? What a fockin' tool.

5. I wonder about this "behaving erratically"
... in the last 24-48 hours stuff. The last I read from his local newspaper, he lives well outside of town, he isn't talking to the press, and has his front gate padlocked.

He may be simply protecting himself from his neighbors, who don't like what he's said. He's been ostracized by many of his neighbors, his son's car was burned recently, and he's getting hate calls. All requests for information are going through his lawyer in San Antonio.

Sounds, to me, like someone trying to avoid confrontation, rather than acting erratically.

3. If burkett does have originals...
how's he gonna get them to CBS without exposing himself as the source? I was thinking about this this morning. He's being staked out. His phone is probably bugged. He could HAVE the originals but have no way to convey them (assuming he doesn't want to be ID'd.) He can't just go down and mail them or FedEx them. It would be front page news. "BURKETT GOES TO POST OFFICE WITH MANILA ENVELOPE ADDRESSED TO CBS!!"

Soooo....if he's acting "erratically," maybe he's trying to figure out some way to convey them. Maybe he should announce that he's sick of being staked out, and is going on vacation. Then he takes about 10 random airplanes all over the place and finally calls CBS from a pay phone in Cinncinnati...

6. Good point, but...
I must admit I don't understand why this man would just happen to have official military records at his personal place of residence thirty years after the fact. I mean, the point is valid one way or another; Burkett wouldn't have any way of clandestinely contacting CBS if he did have the docs...I just can't figure out why he'd actually have them.
