Two of my favorite Kerryisms

He can be very funny.

1. Just the other day, noting that his campaign had neared Disney's "fantasy land" in Orlando, FL, he said: "The difference between George Bush and me is that I drove by it. He lives in it."

2. A few months ago, when told that George Bush had fallen off his bike, he said, "Oh? Did the training wheels come off?"

sharp and quick too. i Love watching him off the cuff.

about Bush wanting to sit on Cheney's lap.

He really needs to let his sense of humor shine. I think if Al Gore would have done the same in 2000, he would have avoided a lot of the criticisms of his personality.

Remember when Bob Dole was running against Clinton in 96? Dole presented himself as this old, dreary man who was already one foot in the grave.

After the election, he was on Letterman. I don't remember laughing quite so hard at any one person on that show.

If Bob Dole would have shown that side of him during the campaign season, he may very well have one.


People want a president they can identify with. Kerry's current image of this stoic Northeasterner has got to be changed. I damn near fell asleep while driving and listening to him speak.

I know, I know. Attack me all you want.

I'm jus' sayin.

comment about Bush sitting on Cheney's lap for the debates. The news keeps talking about Bush making fun of Kerry about flip flopping, but as someone who who has been paying attention to Kerry for about a year and a half I have heard him make fun of Repubs from time to time. Remember Kerry's comment about Rush and his maid buying his drugs from the primary debates.

"In the latest Democratic debate on CNN, candidate John Kerry cracked that to improve access to prescription drugs, "You can hire Rush Limbaugh's housekeeper, or you could elect me president of the United States.""

I think the reason Kerry is good at it is that he pays attention to popular culture and he knows what people are laughing at.
