I went through the Congressional Budget Office report and the Dept. of Commerce website. Based on his tax policy, I calculated a number of things that weren't in the public report.
If you want to confront/inform somebody on Bush's catering the the rich, I've got some ammo for you:
From 2000 to 2003: Corporations got a 9.4 point drop in tax Top 1% of households got a 5.0 point drop Middle 20% got a 1.8% drop Bottom 20% got a 1.4% drop
There are a BUNCH more stats and figures on my website. It is so bad it looks like I fudged the data...
I have a pdf file of some choice plots you can distribute easily. I've posted the Excel file so anybody can check my work. All data is referenced and from official government sources accesible online.
If you find the stuff interesting, reply to this thread so it stays current so other people find it.
If your at my site, take a look around. I think it is cool... The site is listed in my signature.
And now a word from our President: "These are the basic ideas that guide my tax policy: lower income taxes for all, with the greatest help for those most in need. Everyone who pays income taxes benefits — while the highest percentage tax cuts go to the lowest income Americans. I believe this is a formula for continuing the prosperity we've enjoyed, but also expanding it in ways we have yet to discover. It is an economics of inclusion. It is the agenda of a government that knows its limits and shows its heart."
