K/E Bumperstickers: Y or N?
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 08:26 AM by Jack_Dawson
The only Kerry bumperstickers I see are on mid-priced sedans. The only Bush/Cheney stickers I see are on luxury cars and SUVs.

I want to slap a K/E sticker on my luxury car, but I have a couple questions. Where do I get one? Will it come off?

Peace.

1. Seems to be no rhyme or reason around here
I see bush stickers on SUV's and pieces of garbage that look like they won't make it around the corner.

Kerry does seem to be middle of the road cars.

48. 6-2 in Kerry's favor in my local Publix parking lot. I have a
Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on my car. It peels off easy. Got them at local Dem headquarters, also for contributing to Kerry campaign. K/E on all types of cars. No real pattern.

Where I live I have seen lots of Kerry stickers on upscale cars. So bite the bullet. I think they come off, eventually.

6. Yes - put it on your luxury car. call your local Dem Headquarters to get
one.

I expect it will come off when the time comes.

I have had luck removing adhesive things by heating them up w a blow dryer first. . .it loosens the adhesive and then you can pull it off cleanly.

That being said, there are Magnetic Kerry Edwards Bumper stickers. . . .

http://magneticbumperstickers.biz/page2.html

Or you could just tape it into your back window.

19. We have Four Mercedes
We have four Mercedes, three are less than two years old. We live in a rich, conservative repuke small city. All our cars have Kerry stickers. We see other cars ranging from Mercedes to Caddies to SUVs with Kerry stickers. If we see repuke stickers, they are usually on trucks and hummers and modest American cars (Ford Escorts) and are w without cheney. We have lived here thirty years and this is the first time we have seen more Democratic stickers than repuke. The repukes cars usually have flags (confederate and/or U.S.) on them. We honk to other Kerry cars, just as in the old days when the VW buses passed each other.

Yesterday I saw a mini van with three K/E stickers, one on the back and one on each side window. I've seen them on a Volvo at Barnes & Noble, and on a pick-up truck going down the highway. I see them oustside the yoga studio, of course, but also in church parking lots!

17. I have one on my pickup truck.
And, I was behind another pickup yesterday with two of the little round stickers on each side of the back window. Also, a "Vote Bush Out" on the tailgate. This truck was one of those jacked up jobs complete with huge chrom roll bars. I tried to catch him and pass him so I could honk and wave but traffic was heavy and he "go away".

something else to share: Last night, my daughter called and said her husband had seen a GREAT BIG B/C billboard on the way home. It was in someone's field and IT WAS HALF BURNT. I know it's bad that someone actually set the guy's billboard on fire, but it's funny as hell too.

14. I have seen a K/E stickers on all makes/models
I have only seen B/C stickers on upper end SUV's and Pickups. I noticed many times those stickers are accompanied by an NRA sticker of Marine emblem.
I noticed yesterday while dropping my daughter off for dance class at a local theater, all the cars in the parking lot had Kerry/Edwards stickers. My daughter (11 years old) asked why. I replied something to the fact that the republicans do not support the arts in a free sense like the Democrats.

15. My teenager wanted to put a Kerry sticker on his new car
His first car! Very nice used Grand Am, not a scratch on it. He's very proud of it, obviously. He asked me for one of my Kerry stickers, and I refused. We live in a republican enclave of CT, and I had to tell him no, because he worked so hard for the car, and I didn't want it to be keyed or vandalized. So he put an Apple sticker on instead.

on the back of my Volvo, on the paint not on the glass.

This election is so important (for the entire world, I believe) so I can't imagine fussing about some goo or a paint chip coming off when you remove your sticker.

If that's your only sacrifice, feel blessed.

I have more bumper stickers than anyone I know. I drive a little truck & tape them on the inside of my back window. I rotate them out every week. The bottom row of stickers are anti-bush - the top row are K/E stickers.

I have so many stickers that I now have anti-bush themes: bad economy, war, liar, stupid, where's Bin Laden. You get the drift. A friend is taking photos every week. By election day I should have rotated through most of them. If I can figure out how, I'll post the photos.

This weeks bottom row stickers:
--If you can read this, you're not the president.
--Warning: watching FOX news can be hazardous to your intelligence.
--It's nuclear, not nookyular, you idiot.
--Kerry for President: bring back complete sentences!

Most of the bush stickers I've seen (& not many!) are the small, circular W one -- almost like they don't want to big of a sticker that is too obvious for fear people will notice it & know what a moran they are.

on edit: I've seen lots of Kerry stickers on SUVs & big trucks.

47. Stickers - Online
Make a donation ($1-3) at local office and GET ONE ON YOUR CAR! Can also order online at www.demstore.com, I think. Can do web search. Put a yellow remember our troops ribbon on it, too. New stickers come off cars easily (within a month or two). Old, sun-baked stickers are hard(er). Still, I've always been able to remove any of mine with a little patience and a dull bladed jack-knife used to get under the edge of the sticker without gouging the plastic/paint. Then clean up any adhesive with Goo-Gone or kerosene, etc.

Thanks for spreading the word on your bumper!

50. The blow dryer is your friend
After Kerry wins (and after driving around gloating for a couple of weeks), you can remove a sticker from paint easily with a blow dryer. Just warm it up and pull slowly. Any residual goop comes off with Goo-Gone or WD40. Then follow with a little cleaner wax to restore the paint to its original shine.

This works really well, I have even been able to take off the annoying safety warning stickers that come on my motorcycles (big orange and white things, "Wear a helmet! Read your manual!" meant to survive WWIII, but they will come off if they get warm enough).

Just don't use a heat gun, or the paint will come off too!
