RNC: Kerry is "Copying" Chimp. List the differences
Believe it or not, Steve Schmidt and others are saying Kerry's proposals are "copying" the Chimp (while "tearing him down," the latest whine over the fact that we have elections in this country). How far will they get with that? The speech outlined one difference after another.

1. Kerry will heed the information, advice and requests of uniformed military; Chimp has not.

2. Kerry will implement recommendations of the 9/11 Commission; Chimp has not.

3. Kerry will put pressure on the Saudi's; Chimp will not.

4. Kerry will fund homeland security to tighten ports (600% increase in cargo inspections) and borders, secure chem/nuke facilities, and strengthen local first responders; Chimp has not.

5. Kerry will bring together real international alliances; Chimp can not.

6. Kerry will listen to the truth, tell the truth, and respond effectively to the truth; Chimp continues to dismiss the truth, lie to America, and act ineffectively, making the situation worse each day.

7. Kerry will expand the army with 40,000 active troops and double special ops; Chimp has no such plan.

8. Kerry will increase personnel and funding for the CIA unit charged with finding Bin Laden and Al Qaeda; Chimp will not.

9. Kerry will make Afghanistan a priority again; Chimp will not.

10. Kerry will step up the effort to destroy weapons left from the former Soviet Union; Chimp has let it slide.

11. Kerry will lead in pressuring Iran and North Korea; Chimp has done nothing.

12. Kerry will work on outreach to the Muslim world to fight against terrorism; Chimp will not.

There are more examples, I'm sure, and many more specifics -- from securing subway systems, to promoting economic growth and social justice in other countries to stem terrorism -- plans both sweeping and detailed.

Don't let the RNC get away with claiming Kerry's just "copying" the Chimp!

1. Didn't the chimp go back to the UN and have Colon Bowell
go to other nations for their help with the Iraq situation after Kerry said that is what he would do???

The RNC and the media are all liars and cowards. BTW thanks for the list!

Nyah, nyah, copy cat, flip-flop.

4. In my school, the saying was,
"I know you are but what am I?"

Their latest script has the words "tear down," as in, "Kerry's trying to tear down the poor hapless little leader of the free world!!" How dare big bad John Kerry run against the pResident and criticize his failures?! It's just so mean to campaign against him!!

5. I love your list...
It seems to me, and I've had this discussion with others in here before, that it is BUSH who is stealing ideas from KERRY.

6. I'm sorry but I think they've got the facts "flip-flopped."
Here's the difference:

Bush: Well, here's how we're going to help the American people with their health care - We're going to let them save their money for it, in case they get sick.

Kerry: We're going to pick up catastophic health care for people which will in turn lower the premiums for everyone else.

Bush: To ensure people have a safe and adequate retirement fund we're going to let them save their money for it. Invest it. In my friend's companies. If the companies don't go broke and the CEOs don't rip them off, they should have a pretty good nest egg when they can't drag themselves to work at McDonald's anymore.

Kerry: We must keep Social Security intact to ensure the most vulnerable in our nation have a safety net.

I could go on, but we all know the score.

8. It's also the fact that Chimp's the incumbent -- all his future-tense
plans ring hollow.

Like the ad where he said, "I know ZACKLY where I wanna lead this country. I know how to create jobs." As Jon Stewart said, "Uh, you might want to get started on that."

All the "we're going to" stuff, let alone the fist-pounding anger at the party NOT in power, is pretty ridiculous. Got a plan? Well what's stopping you?

Why is he always asking for Kerry's plan -- cuz he needs help?!

7. BS I've noticed Chimpy copying Kerry for months now. Kerry says he would
do something and then low and behold Chimpy is doing it only not quite or wrong. I hate this crap of turning everything around. They are still stealing because they have no ideas of their own.

11. Are you kidding?
EVERYTHING Bush is desperately trying to do now in Iraq was the plan Kerry laid out a year ago. He flip-flopped his way right over to everything Kerry insisted had to be done. If plagerism of policy was a crime in government Bush would be in jail right now.

12. Not kidding
To douse the spread of terrorism, Kerry proposed policies aimed at denying individuals and groups the ability to organize and attack. Kerry said he would build a better military and intelligence apparatus to go after enemies, deny terrorists weapons and financing, move against worldwide terrorist havens and recruitment centers, and promote freedom and democracy in Muslim nations.

The Bush-Cheney campaign said the president is already following that course. "He is copying the president's plan at the same time he is attacking the president," said spokesman Steve Schmidt.
