I've been waiting for this! When the likes of Tom DeLay can ascend to the position he holds, when John Ashcroft defiles the Justice Department, when criminals like Negroponte hold UN and ambassadorial positions, something has gone badly wrong in this country.

"I don't view these people as conservatives," Kerry said. "I actually view them as extreme, and I think their policies have been extreme, and that extends all the way to Iraq, where this president, in my judgment, diverted the real war on terror - which was Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda - and almost obsessively moved to deal with Iraq in a way that weakened our nation, overextended our armed forces, cost us $200bn and created a breach in our oldest alliances."
http://www.news24.com/News24/World/US_Elections/0,,2-10-1665_1594724,00.htmlOur political center is now far, far to the right, and extremism has become not only acceptable, but the norm. The Bush cabal is outside American political traditions and practices, sometimes outside the law, and definitely OUTSIDE THE MAINSTREAM. The press obscures this fact. If Kerry can expose it, it will help him win. People voting for Bush are voting for a wingnut; the press that sucks up to him are sucking up to a wingnut. A wingnut sits in our purloined White House.
