2. With all their corporate $$$ they can afford it
I wonder if those that do it are now included as 'employed' - new job creation is important.

4. Yes and it's classified as a "manufacturing" job
because you have to "manufacture" a whopper of a story to get people to support *.

5. Notice that the job requirements for GOP canvassers
are significantly higher than those for their presidential candidate!

"No felonies"

"good communication skills"

"professional appearance"

6. Hate to tell you this....
But the Democrats do this, too. Every election around here we end up paying canvassers. Problem is that it looks like the GOP is ready to pay more than we are.

7. I've been working in the same area as PA Democrat, and
there are more volunteers by the day.

What's amazing about this is it is a Repug area, but the Dems have all the volunteers this year. People actually thank you for calling them; they want to help! It's very encouraging.

Thanks for the post, PA Democrat. I loved it!

10. The first evil idea that popped into my head..
apply for the job, and then make an ass out of yourself.

Knock on people's doors, fart, burp, have big/greasy stains on your shirt (stains that look freshly-smeared), curse, hand-out paperwork with nasty slimy "goop" on them.

And best of all.. represent the GOP.

God, I'm evil tonight!

Wear a big tacky crucifix, have headphones on with really loud music, have a Bible, smoke a shitty cigar, wear a Racetrack Charley outfit and take a piss in your pants.

Ready to go! Wooohooooo! USA! USA! USA!

You: Knock knock. "Hey, I'm (burp) here to see if you (fart) are supporting (burp) George (blow crappy cigar smoke in their face) Bush. Damn, you have a cuuuuute daughter...yum yum...how old is she? She looks like the kind of girl that would...mmmm...OH! Sorry, man."
