Now, it doesn't have to be "granny" per se, but a character of a trusted family member. I pick "granny" because "she" would appeal to the seniors, to families, and to the young who may respect the advice of their elders - especially if that elder spoke in clear, "common-sense" terms.
I don't even know if this is doable, but picture an ad buy by the Kerry camp that would run, if not nationwide, in every conceivably contestable state. It would run once a day, at the same time, maybe right after Wheel of Fortune or something - evening time. It would be a new ad every day. Perhaps it could be live.
"Granny" would be seated in a cozy, comforting living room, perhaps by a fire, perhaps with a shawl, or even on a nice front porch, with a sweater, enjoying the fall weather. Or a combination of both. I dunno. I kninda like the fireside thing myself.
There would be a long shot closing in on the porch, and then into the living room. "Granny would address the camera like she was giving expert, knowledgeable advice. And every day, at the same time, she would start out with something like, "well you won't believe what "they're" up to now."
She would then go on to give a fresh, extra-current, "common-sense" rebuttal to the bush gang's most recent activities and lies - especially campaign lies.
This, in my idea, would air every single day, or at least every week day, and would address the very latest from the bush gang,, contrasting their lies of today with their lies over the last three years.
It would run maybe 30 seconds or a minute.
It should end with the same ending, cutting words of advice about not trusting the bush regime, or anything they say. And wouldn't have to even mention Kerry. It would be aimed at painting bushco as the lying org that it is.
The media attention to it alone would be worth the cost.
A daily message from a wise, trusted character/image, speaking the plain hard truth about the thugs in the bush regime, spewing their constant lies while screwing the nation in the process.
Maybe?
