How to woo Republicans
Just a thought. If an independent group ran ads that suggested this year we have two good candidates running for President, I wonder if it would make it easier for moderate Republicans to not vote?

From a Republican point of view, one has to believe that Kerry is not that bad a choice. He's a military man, a prosecutor, mostly moderate on the issues, and part of the New Democratic philosophy that gave rise to the economic boom of the 1990s. If presented in that way, I could see more Republicans than Democrats being demotivated.

1. Kerry has not been portrayed as a moderate
While Kerry may be moderate to us here on DU, the media & the RW spin machine have painted him as a traitorous, liberal Commie sympathizer who changes his position as the wind blows.

2. Fiscal conservatives should vote for Kerry
With Kerry elected and the House GOP and the Senate split, we'll have split government again ala 1994-2000. The ecomomy boomed, deficits were drastically reduced, government growth was slow. A real non partisan fiscal conversative would love that.
