Karen Hughes on Msnbc downplaying debate and Bush winning
She even said Kerry campaign says Bush is good and that Kerry has more experience since he is a senator and that is what they do and presidents don't debate.

1. Nonsense Karen
Bush is a great debater. He "trounced" Al Gore in 2000. Kerry will be lucky not to trip over his own feet walking to the podium.

(Is that good for the expectations meme, or is it too much?)

3. I saw that load of horse crap. They did this with the Gore debates
They play the Really Low Expectations game and when W* manages to sit upright they say he won.

4. That's Karen's job! We don't complain when one of our
promoters are on TV. I won't complain about Karen. Sure, she lies, but she is pretty good at it.

15. Hey! I don't like her either! All I said was she's doing her job.
I think she was much more effective in 2000 than she is now. I must even admit, I thought she was a pretty smart cookie when I first saw her. Somehow, she doesn't seem nearly as genuine as she did then. I think she's lost a lot of her credibility, and so has Shrub.

6. Sorry, it isn't going to work this time. He has been Prez for 4 years
he should be able to speak and act presidential.

We will see who looks more presidential.

8. It's a tut-tut-pshaw-and-piffle game. Inside, her bladder's ready to blow!
Talk about lowering expectations. In reality, Karen, Rove and Co. are trying to figure how in the hell they are going to survive after Thursday.

10. Also, she has been saying that Kerry was in a debating club
in school....So, let me get this straight, we should give some slack to dickhead for not being educated and not serving the public for twenty plus years?

"Give little shrubie a break. While John Kerry was excelling in school and serving his fellow man, poor Georgie was horkin coke and throwing whiskey bottles out of his daddies convertible in Kennebunkport."

13. No fair ...

While Kerry was debating, protesting, speaking and testifying before Congress, Bush was binge drinking and snorting cocaine. How could it POSSIBLY be fair.

Thats like having a Home Run Derby contest between George Bush and Sammy Sosa. Jeez, Bush couldn't even make it onto his Andover Baseball tea. How could you expect him to be a big "macho baseball players".

The next thing you know, the Kerry camp will challenge Bush to a "flying contest". Jeez, Kerry was flying planes ever since he was 16 and continues to fly to this day. How could Bush's deliquent service and 25/100 flight aptitude qualification stack up to Kerry's immense experience in multiple types of aircraft.

Jeez you guy this is liking running a handicap guy against Carl Lewis. It's just SO unfair that you have a smart, intelligent articulate man, and the Republicans only have a dry-drunk, lazy, loudmouth dimwit!!!!!

11. Merging Bush and 'Rudy'

So ANY Bush performance will be a good one. Was that a pre-emptive strike at the convention when Bush said he wasn't so good with English????

Dammit, I thought the Republicans were an "English Only" party. At the very least, the President could show SOME competency with it!!!!

BTW Karen, if your man lacks experience fielding random questions, it's probably because he only holds ONE press conference a year. And ONE of those was scripted!!!!

I like Kerry's quote "If he has to practice for a debate on foreign policy, maybe he shouldn't be running for president!!!"

14. Kerry campaign is right
Bush is good. He does not need a lot of experience in debating--it comes natually to such an astute, informed and articulate man.

17. I agree with all of you on the poor Shrub thing, but don't underestimate
the shrub! I really can't tell what's real with him and what's not anymore. I watched clips of his debate with Ann Richards when he ran for Gov of Tx. I must admit, he was pretty good. Didn't have any of those er, aha, hm, eh, in between every word like he does now. Is what we've seen all fake? Or is he getting older, or having some other problems? I don't know. I warn you, don't underestimate him. Wait until Thur. night...late...after the debates are over, and let's see what's real NOW.
