Walter Shapiro (USAToday) cleaned Hannity's clock
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 08:41 PM by kskiska
I think Hannity thought he was going to get confirmation of all his Kerry talking points, but Walter surprised him. He pointed out how he was with Kerry while campaigning the day his mother entered the hospital (and subsequently died), managing to carry on as if nothing was happening, while receiving cell phone calls from his sister at the hospital, showing him to be very vulnerable. Hannity pressed with all the usual slime regarding Kerry's "vote for the war," and Shapiro said he was with Kerry the day after the vote, when Kerry specifically said he voted to remove Saddam Hussein, with cooperation from allies, not to go to war. Hannity persisted, but got no satisfaction from Shapiro. Finally, in exasperation, he asked Shapiro, "Who are you voting for?" Shapiro said that wasn't the issue.

5. It doesn't take much
I called Sean Hannity when he subbed for Bernie Ward. I think it was on the Paula Jones story but I basically had him for lunch. The only reason Alan Colmes is on the show is to make Hannity look good.

2. Damn...good answer
Damn straight that isn't the issue. It never is unless you're a partisan hack yourself.

Every one of the Faux jer-null-ists uses the same stupid tactic: if the guy disagrees with your talking points, paint him as a partisan.

Shapiro gave the only right answer. The Fauxies will all assume he's a "Kerry liberal."

NOTE: kskiska, being the only informed set of eyeballs affixed at the time, did not concur with the cave-dweller majority.

:)

4. Thanx. Shapiro countered just about everything Hannity threw at him.
He wrote a book about being on the campaign bus and spent a lot of time with Kerry and knows exactly what the truth is.
