Republicans are desperate. DESPERATE
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 08:17 PM by Pobeka
They are so DESPERATE they will lie.
They are so DESPERATE they will smear patriotic democrats.
They are so DESPERATE they will steal from our children with deficit spending.
They are so DESPERATE they divert us from the disaster in Iraq with talk about which sports candidates like.
They are so DESPERATE they'd rather us worry about a candidate's complexion instead of the failing economy and jobs.

Let's start a meme, not mirror a meme back at them.

1. Good idea! "desperate" is a pretty negative word; "pathetic" also comes
to mind...
But desperate works too!

2. They may be desperate but...
the three things you mention are standard fare for the Republicans when they're confident, too.

6. Hey! Did you see Kerry's funny suntan???
Soldiers are dying and these assholes talk about a guy's suntan. I can only hope the American people rise above this insanity.

9. New right wing lie coming to your mailbox
I got a e-mail last night that is full of lies.

It says it wants to distribute 25,000,000 of the "voter guides" from some group called "Citizen Leader Coalition".

Says Bush is opposed to gay marriage and Kerry Favors it. As I understand Kerry supports civil unions, but not gay marriage.

Says Bush is opposed to partial-birth abortion and Kerry supports it. I believe Kerry supports partial birth abortion to save the life of the month, a position supported by 70 or 80% of the public.

Says Bush favors restoring voluntary prayer in the public schools and Kerry opposed. I haven't heard any such position from Kerry.

On "Assault on Mel Gibson for making film about Christ", says Bush supports Gibson and Kerry "participated in Lefts assault on Gibson, suggesting possible anti-Semitism even though Kerry had not seen the film". I haven't heard of anything that could be called an assault on Gibson's file, and absolutely not from Kerry.

On "Assault on Boy scouts for belief in God and not allowing homosexual scout leaders", says Bush supports Boy scouts stand, and claims Kerry opposes Boy Scouts stand". The issue as I remember it was the boy scouts not letting gays in at all, and haven't heard anything about scout leaders.

On "Asking for God's blessing of America" Bush "often asks God to bless America in his speeches, claims Kerry "attacks Bush for mentioning God so often". This one is just silly, I KNOW Kerry doesn't believe this or has ever said it.

On "Judges", Bush - "Says we need common sense judges who believe our rights are derived from God", claims Kerry "Insists on judges who support the ACLU's radical anti-Christian, anti-God, anti-family agenda. Along with Senator Ted Kennedy, leads the Lefts effort in the senate to block Bush's federal judge appointments". Another silly lie. Neither Kerry, Kennedy or ACLU have any sort of anti-Christian, or anti-family or anti-God policy. I believe the issue is separation of church and state to protect all religions.

Says Overall Record "Bush does not vote on issues before Congress but based on publicly stated positions would receive an 85% conservative rating from American Conservative union if he did"
For Kerry says "the highly respected politically-neutral National Journal rates Kerry the most liberal U.S. Senator in 2003 more liberal than Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton". Very interesting that the National Journal being politically neutral would rate anyone politically, doesn't that mean their not politically neutral?

I find it real interesting that the only way some on the right can make a point it to lie.
