Dean Supporters: Whose endorsement would you like next?
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 08:27 PM by Rowdyboy
You guys have already wrapped up every major endorsement (other than the Clintons) imagineable from Al Gore to the Head of Public Works in Podunk Maine so who's left? Who's endorsement would make you feel better?

Understand, Jesus Christ and God are unavailable as both are on record as having endorsed Bush/Cheney...

6. Yes,
after careful consideration, I would have to say Carter, my favorite president, although it sure would be good to have Rowdyboy's endorsement.

20. John Irving's. He was purportedly pissed off at Dean at one
point in Vermont due to Dean's education initiatives, but I have no way of knowing whether or not this is actually true. It may have been true.

A John Irving endorsement would be a wonderful one--but nobody seems to care about real writers anymore.

22. I care! I care!!
Irving is my hero. A Prayer for Owen Meany is still my favorite book. Of course, I'd like the endorsement to go to my guy, but hey, if Irving plays ball with us, it doesn't matter much in the end, does it?

29. Cider House is the best. But we can disagree *slightly*!
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 09:10 PM by janx
I have a wonderful essay that Irving wrote on his invitation to the White House and his dinner with President Reagan...it's a riot. (Irving is a Democrat and his wife is a dual citizen.)

I like to use this one on the very last day of essay-writing class as a kind of celebration for my students.

If you're interested, it's in a collection titled Trying to Save Piggy Sneed, and it's one of Irving's lesser-known books. You will probably like it. Check it out on Amazon.

One of my best students last semester is a Wes supporter here on DU, by the way. She is very hard working and bright, and she has a lot of interests that she educated me about as she wrote. But I'm not going to give her name away. ;-)

37. Don't pass out on me, but STEVE FORBES
It would weigh heavily with the street. It would mean a lot for a Wall Street insider to say this is the guy, and last but far far from least...

IT WOULD TOTALLY MIND FUCK THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!!!

It would prove that Dean's Kung Fu is better than Bush's Kung Fu. It would be the masterful of all masterful political maneuvers in American history.

It would mean that politics forever has been changed by a movement of the people.

It would devestate the Bush administration in the area of economics.

It would be a death nail of all death nails for the propogandistic bullshit that spews forth in the form of rhetorical nonsense out of the mouth of an idiot son of an asshole.

The last effect, and perhaps the most critical of concern to one an all...

IT WOULD CRACK ME UP!!!
