WAIT A MINUTE!! Is This Even Right...???
I was just perusing the Hardball Horseshit -- I mean -- Horserace website a moment ago. According to them, John Kerry not only has raised more money than SmirkBoy*, but he has more cash on hand. This bodes REALLY well for President-Elect Kerry -- especially if he does well in tonight's debate.

The numbers:

Total Raised
Bush, $243.7M
Kerry, $304.0M

Total Spent
Bush, $207.9M
Kerry, $182.5M

Total On Hand
Bush, $111.4M
Kerry, $121.6M

The source:

MSNBC "Hardball: Horserace"

Observations:

This should put Kerry at least on an even keel with Bush in the remaining 33 days of the campaign RE: ads, etc. Remember how Kerry tried to ease up on ads in August to save loot? And how he got his ass handed to him in the process? The Kerry campaign said even then that this move was a sacrifice in order to campaign more effectively in the waning days. Those who think he's given up on Missouri simply because he's not saturating the market with ads may be in for a rude awakening -- especially since Kerry is still within striking distance. Those who don't yet believe Kerry is a strong closer, prepare to be converted...

Second observation: it seems that Chris Matthews doesn't even bother to read the website he hawks on his show every night. There's quite a bit of good news on that site for Kerry fans, yet it hardly ever gets reported by Matthews. Wonder why...? :eyes:

1. $10 Mill more on hand, eh?
That will buy a nice chunk of ad time in the last 10 days or so.

4. By their figures, Shrub should only have 30something mil on hand.
They both got $75 mil in Federal election funds.

6. They are off badly...

Kerry raised 60.3M more than Bush, spent 25.4M less, but only has about 10M more to spend? Must be some more of that fuzzy math...

5. Then why am I seeing ONLY * ads here (nat'l ads) and moveon.org ads?
I have seen throughout the entire campaign this year maybe 5 Kerry ads. I know I'm in Texas, and Texas is a lost cause, but these Bush ads are national ads on CNN and MSNBC. WTF?

8. It's all going into get-out-the-vote efforts in swing states
If you live in OH or Fl, you will soon be showered with visits and phone calls (if you still have a home and a phone in Fl).

Like the surprise in Iowa, Kerry's going to win this election on the ground, the old fashioned way, without a lot of national air time.

10. If I remember correctly, Kerry spent a lot less in ads in September
than Bush and is waiting to unload in October when Bush will be down in his funds. Seems Bush strategy is to hopelessly destroy Kerry now and voters won't listen to him. Kerry strategy is that the morons eat whatever they were last served. Well, we will find out who was right pretty soon..........

11. I'd be careful thinking Kerry is ahead in fund raising...
BushCo probably has more illegal deals going on right now that anyone could ever imagine. Besides, the corporate boys aren't going to little Georgie run out of anything like money in this election. He can be out of ideas, morality, honesty, dignity, war plans, peace plans, or anything for the economy - but they will be SURE BoyGeorge will have all the money he needs to buy this election. Their very futures depend on the continued screwing of the country and they need the impotent figurehead to front for them. Money, Bush will always have.

Go give to Kerry & DNC until it hurts and then give some more. We all know this election isn't about the best person to lead this country for the GOP - it is all about an agenda that will shut down democracy for years. We can't let that happen. If you don't have the money, then volunteer at a local DNC organization, talk to your friends, send emails, stick up flyers, bombard the media but don't let up.
