I think this is how Kerry should respond to the authorization vote. It is simple, short and to the point.

He also could say about the 87 billion dollar vote. "And I wasn't about to hand him any more gas money until he changed direction. Sadly he has not ..."

Anyway, more unsolicited campaign advice ... :-)
