Kerry's point that B* has long term objectives in Iraq
and that we are building so many permanent bases there is BIG.
This could be the one thing that moves the undecideds into the Kerry camp.

1. Bush never addressed it either!
I was shocked that he had nothing to say on that issue.

2. Bush didn't address any real points that Kerry brought up.
He just repeated the same shit we have been hearing from every repug for weeks. The fact that they haven't come up with anything better and never address any factual points is very important.
The military bases in Iraq, IMHO, will bring Bush to his knees and send him back to Texas.
Kerry needs to keep this up front!

7. lose-lose for Bush
If he denied it, the PNAC neocons would take away his noontime snack.

If he acknowledges it, the rest of the country starts chewing their fingernails.

3. And the next question should be:

JUST WHAT IS IN DICK CHENEY'S ENERGY TASK FORCE REPORT? I THINK SENATOR KERRY SHOULD POSE THAT QUESTION AND DEMAND A REASON IT REMAINS CLASSIFIED.

Maybe a freeper lurker could share with us the rationale of classifying a document which may contain the real answer to why we went to war. TO KEEP BUSH FROM GOING TO JAIL? Good answer, good answer.

4. And PNAC, and the neo-cons, who are all under investigation
for espionage.

5. Yep. That is very very important
95% of the people don't know about that, never reported in the media. Glad he brought it up. It'll change what people think ....that we are there to permanently conquer and stay....whereas most people think we are there to 'liberate them'

6. this point is strangely ignored
Kerry and his surrogates have been drawing this very important distinction between him and Bush, but the press seems to be ignoring it totally.

Most recently, Diane Sawyer claimed she wanted to hear differences between him and Bush, but when he brought up the permanent bases, she quickly changed the subject.

I'd heard this point being made repeatedly by Madeline Albright, Joe Biden and Richard Holbrooke, but in each case the subject was never pursued.

Which I find odd, since in a way they are accusing Bush of continuing to mislead us even now. You'd think the press would jump on this, but they're not.

8. PS. US military base on the site of Babylon,
The oldest city on the face of the earth. The desert around it is littered with holes from people digging up artifacts and selling them. What a waste of history.
