Good debate, but missed opportunity.
When both candidates agreed that WMDs/nuclear proliferation was the single greatest danger facing the US, I wish Kerry had said something about the fact that this is the very issue Valerie Plame was working undercover to deal with when the Bush administration outed her in an act of petulant political payback over her husband's calling Bush on a lie.

1. Kerry was very clear in pointing out that Bush has done nothing...
... in gathering up the loose nukes, and that he failed to protect the nuke facilities in Iraq (whilst the oil ministry *was* protected).

Lehrer managed to blur the difference on that point by getting them to agree that unchecked nukes/WMDs are the highest priority.

3. Agreed. Like working with a straightjacket on.
Will be interested how he fares in the town-hall style debate up next.

4. That is an excellent catch

I also thought he should of called Bush on the Zarqawi link to Al Qaeda terrorists. Bush refused the Pentagon 3x in their requests to bomb Zarqawi and his base. He had to save that excuse for the UN.
