LOL! Awesome. What a powerfully apt image.

A couple of times on the CSPAN streaming coverage, they showed a shot from behing Kerry, which really gave the impression of Kerry being quite a bit taller than Bush (I know he really is, but this sort of accentuated it.

I also noticed that after the completion, Kerry walked right up to Bush, and kind of stood over him, for just an instant.

"Look at him...talkin' all smartlike...with all them fancy-fangled facts and 'English' and stuff...big showoff..."

While his head loomed so large. The camera angle, his posture and the dark suit made him go all lollipop to the viewer.

...do not favor the wee cowboy. They are the very same furnishings that were used in the last debate at that venue. When you have a very tall, very lean man in front of a squat looking, boxy piece of furniture, it accentuates his height. The wee cowboy, by contrast, looked small, and did not help his case by slumping on the lectern like a tired child.

On CSPAN, where they did a split-screen for the ENTIRE debate, the difference was especially marked. Even though the camera distance differential and the leveling of the two candidate's shoulders caused wee cowboy's (rather ORANGE) head (with dyed hair) to fill his half of the screen, all that served to do was to accentuate every eye roll, every pout, every glug, glug, glug of water...he looked REALLY awful, I must report (with glee).

If you have any friends who missed the debate, please urge them to watch one of the CSPAN re-runs. I had a look at some of the network clips, and while wee cowboy came off lousy on those, he came off way worse, like a spraying skunk with diarrhea at a garden party, in the continuous split screen coverage. It was just too, too, TOO awful for words (said gleefully, once again!).
