Is Cheney in the Senate on most Tuesdays?
Blogs have pointed out that Cheney only presided over the Senate twice, but was Cheney telling the truth that he's there on most Tuesdays?

1. No.
And he rarely presides over the Senate. He only does that when it may be necessary for him to break a tie vote.

2. Not in late 2001 / early 2002
As you may remember, after 9/11 Cheney was hiding out in "an undisclosed location" for months.

4. Yes. He has lunch with the Senate Republican Caucus.
The Vice President used to meet weekly with Senate leaders from both parties. I guess Uncle Dick's bionic ticker can't handle the stress of people who don't share his special views on the world.

I guess his point is that only republicans can be president. How would I guess he'd ever say such a thing.

and complained he didn't see Edwards there?

Do they meet on the Senate floor or at a restaurant?

7. They meet in a room at the Capitol
And Democrats are NOT invited and not welcome, so it would be really bizarre if he ever ran into Edwards there.

The last time that Cheney was on the floor of the Senate, Edwards was there as well. But Cheney was so busy telling Leahy to go f*ck himself, he probably didn't notice him.

Cheney Dismisses Critic With Obscenity
Clash With Leahy About Halliburton

A brief argument between Vice President Cheney and a senior Democratic senator led Cheney to utter a big-time obscenity on the Senate floor this week.

On Tuesday, Cheney, serving in his role as president of the Senate, appeared in the chamber for a photo session. A chance meeting with Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (Vt.), the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, became an argument about Cheney's ties to Halliburton Co., an international energy services corporation, and President Bush's judicial nominees. The exchange ended when Cheney offered some crass advice.
