New Poll: Obama leads Keyes 64% - 20% in Illinois
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 11:02 AM by WI_DEM
68% of Illinois voters have a favorable opinion of Barack Obama.
33% of Illinois voters have a favorable opinion of Alan Keyes.

Only 46% of Republicans will even vote for Keyes.

39% think Keyes is an extremist and 14% say he is "devisive"

I predict Obama will be the first African-American nominated for VP in 2012 running with VP Edwards!!

2. Conclusion: Obama runs virtually unopposed
Keyes is not a serious contender for the office.

5. Shit! Keyes is catching up! He used to only have 17%!!!
That means by the 2010 election, it might be a close race!!

Watch out Obama!!!

6. Time for Obama to campaign in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan
He's got Illinois sealed up. He can help us in other Midwestern states.

10. Don't you love the hard core die hards!?
Twenty percent will vote for Keyes. These people are isolated, insulated and more than a little crazed.

This also may hurt other Illinois Rep candidates at local levels.

13. And a good number of those are blind party loyalists
Some people vote for "their party", no matter what sort of imitation of humanity is running under their party's label. The Dems have them, too. Even I felt obligated to vote straight party by virtue of my position when I was a local party official (granted, I was never faced with the prospect of voting for a lunatic).
