Why isn't torture
in Iraq, Gitmo, Afghanistan, god knows where else, an issue in this election? You'd think it would be. I'm ashamed, and pissed off that this pretender has dragged through the gutter and sullied the name of my country, which I love dearly. :wtf:

1. Why isn't torture a viable option for Bushco. Maybe then they will see.

2. I think it is a very tough topic to address without sounding as if you
are not supporting the troops. I have to believe that when Kerry is president and Rumsfeld is out, that the issue will be addressed.

3. It's something of a wedge issue, not something either candidate's staff

would advise focusing on this close to the election. It's a longstanding policy that is not likely to change regardless of politics, and could easily make either candidate vulnerable to charges of being soft on terror.

If there had ever been broad support for abandoning the practice, you can be sure that the US taxpayers who have paid for it all these years would make their objections known!

At this point, there are many other issues that will be better for the candidates to concentrate on!

6. They already wrapped that one up in a nice neat
package by railroading a few poor slobs.
