ROLL TIDE!!!!!
Nothing in particular to celebrate (unless you reallly didn't like Shula or you're into b'ball) but it just kills me to see a "WDE" post at the top of the thread index without a "roll tide" somewhere.

Making the elite eight a couple years ago was exciting. Hopefully we can do even better this season.

Hmmm, I wonder if Mark Gottfried can coach football? :D

4. I don't think Mark is going anywhere anytime soon
He's a native of Ohio, I think, but I doubt he would leave Alabama for Ohio State. I think he's loyal to his alma mater.

I remember going to the coliseum when he was a player and I was a teenager. Wow, he was a good shooter!

I'm still not sure if he's a great coach, but he's surely a very good one.

I say we hang on to him for a while, unless we can trade him to OSU for their football coach. ;)

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. Dec 8, 2006 (AP)— West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez turned down Alabama on Friday, telling his players that he'll be back for his sixth season with the Mountaineers.

Alabama officials offered the job to Rodriguez on Thursday morning, but the definitive answer didn't come until more than 24 hours later. Reportedly, Alabama offered Rodriguez a $12 million, six-year contract.

6. Hope he enjoys WVU. I don't think he'll ever get another offer.
RR had visited Texas Tech THREE times before turning them down. I wonder if Mal Moore knew about that before he offered.

Hopefully, MG can get things up to speed.

Did you know that Alabama gymnastics has beaten Auburn 90 consecutive times? I thought the sportscaster was on crack. But I checked, and it really is true. I admit I'd trade that streak for the football one though. ;)
