Clark in Montgomery AL - 1/15/07
Gen. Wesley Clark to swear in Ag Commissioner Ron Sparks

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Retired Gen. Wesley Clark, who campaigned with Ron Sparks in October, will be back in Montgomery on Jan. 15 to swear in Sparks for a second term as state agriculture commissioner.

"General Clark has been a good friend to me and it is truly an honor to have a national hero be a part of this special day," Sparks said in a news release Wednesday.

Clark, a Democratic candidate for president in 2004, is considering making another run in 2008. He toured Alabama with Sparks and some other Democratic candidates in October.

Sparks defeated Republican Albert Lipscomb in the Nov. 7 general election.

1. He is also going to be in Birmingham with Charles Barkley and then in Huntsville
for a covered dish supper at the UAW union hall, right by HSV Intl. Airport starting at 4pm. No fee for the Huntsville meeting!
