1. So many great choices to take the Budanators seat!
Susan Parker, Parker Griffin, Roger Bedford, Deborah Paseur, etc.! All great Democrats and up here in the Loyal Fifth District!

2. Yep, I agree!
I'm from Florence, but just moved to Michigan. I just hope it's a democrat who fills the spot.

:hi:

3. Do they really have more "title loan" shops than Florence there in Michigan?!
Wow, that was a brave move, given Michigan's economy right now, but I hear they are giving real estate away there, unless it gets struck by arsonists first.
The economy here is so rotten that my sister had 3 houses on the market totally rehabbed in established neighborhoods and got contract after contract on them only to have the mortgage comapanies turn the potential buyers down. It seemed that they were living off their credit cards! Two finally moved.
But I digress, it seems that rarely if ever have we had so many great Democrats to choose from in North Alabama! The new president of UNA is on a roll, and there is rumor once again about a law school at UNA at Wildwood Park area!
But on the downside, all three of the galleries are closed now, and Court Street looks like a tumble weed needs to blow past save for Rosie's, Trowbridge's and Ricatoni's. Looks like everyone has chosen to make the trek to Cool Spring or to Madison for their shopping now.
But I bet that $4 a gallon gas will soon make them change their minds!
Please don't develop a taste for that Ventnor's ginger ale, it will be impossible to find south of the Ohio! Also, plan on stocking up on Martha White and White Lily flour and cornmeal when in Florence to take back with you if you cook!

6. I've only seen one "title loan" shop here, but the city is a lot smaller.
The economy here is horrible, and our house is STILL for sale in Florence. It's been on the market a year. :( We decided to buy a house instead of rent, so we have two house payments. Talk about stress. We were able to get a beautiful old victorian for $200,000. Think of the houses on Wood Ave and Walnut Street. It's one of those. Now, we really need to sell our Florence house.

5. As of Good Friday: Susan Parker out, Parker Griffin in, Tammy Irons on fence.
