What would a 1948 photo of Bear Bryant be worth?
8 X 10 B&W glossy.
Possibly one of a kind.
Bryant was UK football coach then.
He and my uncle at the first Mt. Sterling, KY Recreation Bowl.
I understand that high school bowl game is a big deal now.
At least it is in Mt. Sterling (where?) KY.
Found it going through a box of photos from my late uncle's estate.

1. great find!
I don't know the precise answer to your question. I've never used ebay, except to browse, but that would be one way to find out how much it's worth -- put it up for bid.

If you find the answer, please report back.

I've got a similar situation. My dad died several years ago, and I was going through some of his stuff, and I found a couple of George Wallace campaign buttons, from way back, maybe even before Wallace was racist.

Don't forget to let us know.

:hi:

5. George Wallace buttons aren't worth much
And a photo of Bear needs to be signed.

2. Find a legitimate appraiser or sports memorabilia shop in the Tuscaloosa area.
Or if your going to sell it online, make sure you notify any local newspaper in Alabama to let your story out.

3. Depends
Was the photo a mass produced print or made by a personal camera? If it's autographed that certainly increases the value. The condition of the photo is also a factor.

Speaking of memorabilia, I've got a rare Bryant item worth sharing. Not only is this print it autographed, but it contains a significant date -- 1/25/83. He died on January 26th. My dad actually went into his office and saw him sign the picture just several hours before his death, meaning that it has to be one of the last times he ever signed his name and possibly the last...

4. I think it was a news photo.
Probably ran in some KY newspapers.
Not autographed, but I've never seen it reproduced any where.
