I am so tired of this heat

Yeah it is hotter with the humidity level where I came from, but these 105 to 110 temps are getting a bit much to deal with. I would hate to go back to South Mississippi now because I don't think I could deal with but these temps here are pushing the limit too. I am about ready to go to a cooler part of the state.

When I first moved here it used to cool off after Labor Day. No more. Now it's November.

The heat zaps me. If I'm out doing yard work, running errands, whatever - I come home and want to nap.
I want my energy back...

If you go up a little into Pine there isn't as much traffic up there.

and the humidity is what gets me. June was wonderful and so was the first part of July. However, these past several days have been horrible. I find myself taking a nap.:) It will be great when we get back to the 90 degree range for our highs..

I am becoming a recluse. I'm so happy to have a dog who is litter box trained. I don't know what I would do if she wasn't.

My plan is - to have Safeway deliver my groceries and there is a contact here where I have organic veggies and fruits delivered to me weekly or bi-weekly.
I just registered with Natures Garden. Natures Garden delivers fruits and veggies in boxes with cold packs. They reuse the boxes and any plastic. They recycle and composte items that can not be re-used.

I just spent 30 minutes on poop patrol and cleaning up some leaves in the yard and am now drenched in sweat. This reminds me of summers in Chicago where we had 95° and 95% humidity.

I use ceiling fans but not all the time. I'm used to it by now. When I leave, I raise the temp a couple of degrees.

I'm on the SRP plan that has peak hours from 3-6pm. My June bill was $95 (vs. $115 for last year) and the July bill, according to their estimate, will be about $130 (vs. $190 last year). That plan has really helped me. The time of day plan sucked because peak hours were basically when I was home. This time span is doable - I just turn as much stuff off then as I can and have the AC program set to go to 88. There have been a few days I've been miserable, but hey, I like saving $60. My house is ~1100 Sq ft.

it's hard tho, cause my fiance just doesn't get it. He's not from AZ and doesn't understand peak time and all that. When he gets home from a road trip, he starts his laundry....yes, at 1 or 2 in the afternoon. He's got every light in the house on all day. I am constantly following him and turning lights off. :-)

I don't know if I could survive at 88 all day though..... :-)

when others don't get with the program. It's 88° when I'm not home! I have a programmable timer that works beautifully. I set it to start chilling about half an hour before I get home. It works.

$150.00 for 1,040 sq feet. I don't use my oven, laundry once every few weeks, lights out - use a night light in the hall so I don't fall. I keep my air on 80, at night 82-84, use ceiling fans most of the time. This is the first year my bill has been so high.

I'm amazed at how much I've saved being on that plan this year.

I'd rather have it warmer during the day than at night -- I can't sleept when it's too hot. Could be because my dog just has to snuggle up - and he is a very very warm blooded creature!

We use the Time of Day plan to save several hundred dollars a year. My house is 2800 sqft and we have a pool, and my bills for July and August can top $400. As long as I can afford high electric bills I'm keeping my house cool in the summer.

Wow! How do you manage? I thought I was frugal with the AC but no way would I choose to go without it altogether.

I actually do have an Air Conditioner but not the same kind a house or apartment has. It is a unit I plug into the wall and it blows cool air rather than a thermostat that cools or warms the whole house. It doesn't do very much. It will make only 1 room somewhat cool (but still hot) while the rest of the house is still hot. It is better than nothing but it uses a lot of energy, I try to keep it off at night but it just gets too hot so I don't do it all the time. I'm always drinking cups of water throughout the day as I constantly get dehydrated.

I have the opposite problem in the winter. I got a fake fire place that somewhat warms the room it is in but I'm shaking and freezing in my blankets throughout the night. The AC broke down last summer so that is why I have this problem.

On edit-Even at night (during this summer) it is difficult as hell to fall asleep because it is always hot in here.

I love AZ, I love the desert, I love the heat, and I rarely if ever use AC.

This is the only time of the year I feel happy, or energetic, or in a good mood.
