I hope she is successful in restoring coverage.
http://www.azcentral.com/news/election/azelections/articles/2011/01/02/20110102arizona-transplant-policy-anna-tovar.html

Nine years ago, Anna Tovar was fighting for her life.

Now, two bone-marrow transplants, extended hospital stays
and one term in the Legislature later, she is fighting for
others who need lifesaving surgeries.

Tovar, a quiet freshman lawmaker, found her voice as controversy
built over the state's decision to end funding for certain medical
transplants. She has appeared on national broadcasts, been quoted
in national publications and appeared at news conferences, offering
herself as living proof that transplant surgeries - including the
bone-marrow transplants that are no longer covered - can work.

"If it was your life, and you had a transplant, and it extended your
life for a while, isn't it worth it?" she said. "My odds were next
to zero on survival rate. But 10 years later,
I'm sitting here, a productive member of society."

Tovar, a Democratic representative from Tolleson, is preparing a bill
to be introduced on the first day of the legislative session next week
to reinstate transplant coverage for patients on the
Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, the state's version of Medicaid.
It will mirror a bill already introduced in the Senate, to speed its way through Legislature.

She needs our support.

1. Restoring Medicaid funding would bring more in federal funding
The state cut $5 million in Medicaid funding and reduced $20 million in federal funds coming into the state. Pearce's position is that he'd like to forgo all federal funding. I'm waiting to see how long it'll be before Az starts succession proceedings from the US. Not a single GOP voter seems to realize that the ecomony has gotten worse under GOP leadership, even with immigration reform. Az's debt / population is double that of Calif's. Texas is in worse shape and the GOP there has been more aggressive than AZ. The Morris Center came out with a damning report yesterday, but solid facts and figures on state policies that affect the economy.

Oh but the headlines are immigration, human-animal hybrids (?) and anything but real issues.
