A new progressive movement in Arkansas
Rod Bryan for Governor 2006

Interested in building an environmental movement that actually changes the status quo?

Interested in reducing our foreign dependence on oil while creating leading-edge jobs, right here in Arkansas?

Reared in Bradley and educated in Arkadelphia, Rod Bryan is 36-year old business owner, husband, and father. He is unwilling to be an old man who didn’t “become the change you wish to see”.

Please join us Wednesday April 13th in downtown Little Rock for a short organizational meeting and a general discussion of issues, including Q&A with Rod Bryan.

Join the Meetup and get details on future meetings.

Find out more about Rod at Rod Bryan for Governor 2006.

So far, we are simply a group of too-progressive Democrats taking matters into our own hands. Please come help us understand the issues that concern you most.

Thanks!

Roger Hall

2. First meeting report
What a great meeting! We had twenty people total (counting Rod and myself) who stayed til after 10 PM discussing Rod's vision for Arkansas and our needs as a campaign. (The meeting was only publicized by word-of-mouth except for this thread, and there aren't many of us DU Arkies.)

With the exception of four from Central High School, everyone who came had a personal relationship with Rod - and each of us believes Rod "has what it takes". What really blew me away was the diversity and depth of the people who came. I never would have expected so much knowledge and experience in such a small group!

We tentatively plan to officially announce Rod's candidacy next month, and many volunteers are needed. Please contact us at the urls above!

3. Local news at 6: Rod Bryan running for Governor
KTHV Channel 11 produced a great feature on Rod:

http://www.todaysthv.com/news/news.aspx?aid=12913&storyid=16369

The official announcement party will be held at Juanita's (in the actual club) on June 2, and will feature the legendary Jim Dickinson among a very talented lineup of Arkansans.

I will update this post with event details when they are available, but make plans to attend today! General information is available at
Rod Bryan for Governor.

4. I don't know much about him or his views. Does he have a web
page to let people know what his view of the future of Arkansas will be? I would like to know where he stands on many issues. I can't stand Huckabee and don't want anyone who is anything like him.
