Arkansas Tourism Dept says dinosaurs were on the Ark
http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/media/display.asp?id=626

"The museum strives to provide a scientifically-plausible history of the earth in relation to the Bible." So claiming that dinosaurs were among the animals on Noah's Ark, as the Museum website does, is scientifically plausible...

I wrote a protest note to the State Parks website (saying, basically, I have no problem with promoting the museum as a tourist attraction, just don't claim it contains "science"), thinking they might care about the opinion of a potential tourist to the state, but got no response.

from the wilds of central Virginia,

2. If it's a State Park ...
why is it basing scientific and historical information on the Bible? :eyes:

8. It's not a State Park, but a private, ministry-driven attraction...
...which leaves us asking: WTF is it doing being promoted on Arkansas' State Parks site?

14. You Gotta Remember
With a Southern Baptist preacher in the governor's office, why question WHY the executive branch is promoting religious views?

3. It doesn't seem polite to call Noah a dinosaur.
Have they no respect for the elderly?

4. I used to read stories like this and dismiss these people as out of the
mainstream until they took over the government. This is absolutely
mind-boggling.

"The museum strives to provide a scientifically-plausible history of the earth in relation to the Bible. The exhibits provide a unique blend of religion, history, and science for viewers.

"This is the first museum of its kind in the U.S. of A.," said Dr. Thomas Sharp, chairman of the Creation Truth Foundation. "There are other museums that tell the biblical story, but nothing of this magnitude." The Creation Truth Foundation, based in Oklahoma, partnered with the Elna M. Smith Foundation, which runs the Passion Play, to offer the new museum."

Why does the museum have to provide a revised view of history to make it fit in with the Bible?? How many of these viewers know the difference between science and history? This is absolutely insane.

<snip>
discover: Were Dinosaurs on the Ark of Noah?

Yes. From a biblical standpoint, it is extremely clear that God created all land animals on day six of the creation week (dinosaurs are land animals), and that He gathered two (male and female) of each kind of land animal into the ark.

Therefore, dinosaurs were included in this group. This is reinforced by statements in Genesis 7, which say that all animals with the breath of life came by pairs into the ark.
<end of snip>

That makes it so. All 500 million species of dinosaurs from the Paleozoic through the Mesozoic and all the way to the Cenozic periods. That was some Ark! I always thought that a cubit was the length of the male forearm or an average of between 17.5" and 20.5". The the Ark I always assumed was the length of 2 1/2 football fields, but I guess Noah had a very long forearm.

9. Plus cleaning up all the dino turds, I have a Shih Tzu and cleaning
...up his poopy requires twice weekly trash pickup. The dinosaur dumps from just one pair of Brachiosaurus each day would have provided enough manure to fertilize a ten acre farm. And the museum says that Noah got a pair of ALL animals.

10. So---
If Dinosaurs lived during Noah's lifetime, which according to all those begats was about 5 or 6 thousand years ago, and he put 'em on the ark, then they survived the Biblical flood. But now they're all dead. Why? What event, post-flood, killed all those dinosaurs?

13. after the flood...
...Noah and the boys were like really really hungery and they bar-b-qued 'em up, which makes the opening scene of the Flintstone's, where Fred orders some dinosaur ribs and they tip over his footy car, biblically correct.

need more proof? Here is a picture of Fred eating a Dino Burger.
