Poll: Californians back unions over Schwarzenegger

SAN FRANCISCO -- An overwhelming majority of Californians approve of the unions Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been attacking while they disapprove of the job Schwarzenegger is doing, according to a new statewide poll.

Schwarzenegger's approval ratings have fallen from 59 percent of Californians surveyed in January to 34 percent last week. His disapproval rating has more than doubled from 26 percent in January to 55 percent in the new poll.


Meanwhile, 57 percent of registered voters surveyed said they generally approved of labor unions while 32 percent disapproved. If there's a fight over school funding in the Nov. 8 special election, 60 percent of voters said they were more likely to support teachers and school administrators, compared to 31 percent who said they would likely support the governor.

Anyway, for folks that arn't from Sacramento, trust me: arnie is NO hero around here.... I've never seen any other plitician hammered so well by labor. Not even peewee wilson got hit this hard.
