Many of you will recall the totally slanted article with outright lies about virtually non-existent (but depicted as "equal") protests for September 24th by the pro-war folks that appeared on XETV (San Diego Fox affiliate) and North County Times web sites. This article didn't appear in the NC Times print edition, but was on their online site, and was uncredited in both places. I wondered at the time whether there was an outside "contractor" writer, working for right wing organizations, that was hired for writing this article.
Is their an official collaboration between XETV and NC Times newspaper for content (where one is supplying content to the other)? Or are both getting these "uncredited" articles from some outside source who should be exposed for who they are and what interests they represent?
I just saw now another example of these uncredited articles appearing on both sites in covering the Donna Frye/Jerry Sanders election, which also appears to be slanted in tone towards Sanders as well.
Look at this story at these two links (Google would appear to have these set of links showing that XETV had the story up first):
Mayoral Campaign (uncredited)
Sanders: Union seeks 'to buy the mayor's office' with Frye ad (from "North County Times wire services")
Certainly I could believe that Faux News can be originating these articles themselves, but part of me wonders if even they are directly responsible for this content. I know with the earlier article most folks wrote letters to the NC Times, which I'm guessing is the least likely originator of these articles. Perhaps a better target to complain about them would be XETV themselves.
This article isn't as untruthful as the earlier one, but it does seem rather slanted in Sanders' favor.
I'm guessing if we studied other online articles between these two publications, we'd see a pattern of the most controversial and anti-progressive ones.
