I can't stand another minute of waiting to know what is going on!
Help me get through the next few minutes or so.

I'm down here in the Temecula Valley, 1 hour north of San Diego, inland.

3. Dang it!
My social worker friends will be involved in more abandoned (possibly dead) baby cases. And dealing with families that have lost a teenager to a botched illegal abortion (or a self-induced one).

Smart move, conservative Californians! You let them put words into a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT that weaken the right to privacy!

Sorry, DUers; I'm just so frustrated about the idiots that voted to pass 73!

5. I hope the early returns are wrong on this
:( I wish that language would have gotten more notice; bad enough that young women are being endangered by this, but that "unborn child" language is truly, truly ominous.

6. I agree.
Lucky I'm 47, and lived in a time where PLANNED PARENTHOOD was the desired choice.

I fear for my daughter, however.

8. I fear for all women--
73 is their way to chip away at choice in CA. Something that Gov. DumbFuck promised would not happen. I'm not saying I took that asshole at any of his words, but it is something he said--

I fuckin' hate him! :grr:

11. Me, too!
But now, as I'm posting, I'm reveling in the fact that we defeated that stupid proposition!

Woohoo!

I'm so glad it turned around - restored my faith in my beloved California!

13. Same here, Maat!
Thanks for being there to commiserate with me last night--I really appreciated your company!

Now if we can keep Alito from taking that seat and destroying things for more women...

14. And, thank you, Bliss!
I'm rather despondent about the Alito thing, though.

But - I have emailed my senators (Boxer and Feinstein). Boxer will act to protect us. I even think that Feinstein will come through in this battle.

By even creating such a proposition, it's as if they are saying, "oooh teens are getting abortions like hotcakes!!! Gotta put a stop to that!!" The reality is, who even knows how many teens are getting abortions? The creation of this prop is manipulative. Of course a parent wants to know if their kid is seeking an abortion, only true progressives know how dangerous this prop really is--and that we did not need such a law to be put into place.

I'm also REALLY pissed with the assholes that put arnold in office. He promised to protect choice (not that I believed him). This prop does NOT protect choice. If it passes, I will make it my mission in life to make sure he is a miserable man until he leaves office.

9. The real problem is it's none of the public's business at all.
As Dean says, these are private, personal, family matters.

10. Absolutely!
Dean makes an excellent point! It's so insulting they would even try something so sneaky...

Now if we can just get rid of Arnie--
